Throughout high school, many opportunities come and go. Your four years will be over quicker than you think. I suggest taking those opportunities to be able to experience as much as you can throughout high school, but remember to not overload yourself. This is where time management comes in.
According to Oxford Languages, time management is “using the time you have effectively and productively.”
I think it is important to spend your time throughout life in general, but high school specifically, doing the things that you love most.
I am caught up in a lot of extracurricular activities both inside of school and out. I have had to learn about time management to help me out. I believe time management is a very important thing that all people should learn.
Time management has a lot of benefits such as more focus, harder work rate, better decision making, and a better sense of accomplishment.
When I begin a project or activity of any sort, I always have to finish it. That is just the kind of person I am. This will sometimes comes back to bite me. I will start multiple things at one time and try to do all of them at once, resulting in lack of quality.
Adding too many things to your plate can cause a lot of stress on yourself. Time management can reduce this stress as well as decrease the overload on yourself.
While you get to experience new opportunities, you will tend to miss some as well. This is bad time management. One of my favorite things to do is hangout with my family, especially with me only having a semester of school left. They want to see me strive and do well in school so I make time in my schedule to do my school work and have as much family time as possible.
Even while I write this story I have to use good time management to meet my deadline. It is so important to be efficient in what you do and focus on the priorities in your life.
The ways that I have succeeded in my time management is setting reminders on my phone to alert me about when things need to be done and what is happening. Always check your schedules for things before you try to add anything into them. Calendars and planners will be your best friends to help you succeed.
