In our February print paper, Multimedia Staff Gunner Martin and Max Moore went head-to-head on a couple different topics. Check them out and decide who you agree with!
Homework
Gunner: Homework often creates more stress than learning. After long school days, students need rest, hobbies and family time. There is a reason kids go to school for eight hours a day, so they shouldn’t be given more work just to do at home. Also, not everyone has equal support or resources at home to complete homework effectively without constant pressure of unnecessary deadlines.
Max: Most students hate homework, but when done right, it’s actually a very helpful tool. Homework lets us practice what we learn in class at our own pace. It allows time to make mistakes and truly absorb the material without the pressure of a classroom setting. It also encourages independent thinking, instead of being guided step-by-step by a teacher, you learn to work on your own and build academic confidence. While too much homework can be overwhelming, reasonable assignments help students get the repetition necessary for success.
Nike Tech vs Quarter-Zip
Gunner: Nike Techs are a staple in modern day fashion. They outperform quarter-zips through superior fit, design, and comfort. The lightweight material provides warmth without too much bulk, zippered pockets, and plenty of durability. What are you gonna do when it rains or snows in a quarter-zip? With Nike Tech you will have a hood to keep you clear from rain and snow.
Max: Quarter-zips are what set boys apart from men. They are the Swiss Army Knife in the outerwear realm. They’re classy enough for a round of golf, comfortable enough for lounging round the house, and adjustable for any change in temperature. On the other hand, Nike Tech hoodies scream middle-school boy in the worst way possible
