The fresh start we have been waiting for

2021 — a year of hope and opportunity

As we all know, the past year has really been something.

Over the course of two days, the entire world and our lives were put on hold.

Events got canceled, work and school were moved online, parties and get-togethers were missed, and our homes truly became the center of our lives.

For years, our whole lives even, we took for granted the things we had, the people we got to see, and the events that “would never get canceled.”

2020 was a complete reality check that revealed how much we have to be thankful for and how much we truly take advantage of.

We have all learned something about ourselves due to the situation of the year. We have had to deal with months of disappointment, continuous cancellations, and constant fear of what will happen next.

However, we are still here, we got through it. The world threw everything it had at us and we still powered through.

I think many can agree that what got us through is hope. Although the present may have been difficult, we had hope for a brighter and better future.

Nine months later, those wishes are becoming reality.

With vaccines coming out, and 2020 over, we can begin to see the light at the end of the tunnel.

This new year is more meaningful than those in the past; it is truly a fresh start.

In the coming year, we will be able to handle negatives, disappointments, and cancellations a bit differently.

We will be able to apply all the things we have learned about ourselves and the world to new challenges we may face.

A year full of negatives has taught us how strong we are and how much we care for one another.

We have come to realize how important the little things in life are and how much we should be thankful for.

The new year is bright and hopeful, an opportunity for positivity and growth.

Although 2020 is a year some wish to forget, 2021 will be one to remember.
