The spectacular complex will be dedicated Sept. 6.

The new Cardinal Stadium, one of the premier athletic facilities in the state, will be dedicated on Friday, Sept. 6, before the George Rogers Clark/Tates Creek football game.

“We are thrilled to announce the opening of this long-awaited stadium complex and invite everyone in Winchester and Clark County to celebrate with us,” said Principal David Bolen.

Along with all Clark County Public Schools students and staff and members of the community, GRC extends a special invitation to all former and future GRC football players to share in the official opening of this spectacular sport and event complex.

The dedication festivities will begin at 6:30 p.m., with kickoff at 8 p.m. A special recognition of the 1991 GRC state championship team will take place at halftime. Admission is free.

“We hope to fill the seats as we experience the reality of what we have all dreamed about for many years,” Bolen said. “It is truly a first-class complex with superior design and features. We are beyond proud to finally play our first game in GRC Cardinal Stadium.”
