Fun things to do at home while staying safe

If you are at home feeling bored and like you have nothing to do (besides the 50 million assignments that you still have to finish) then trust me, you’re not alone. I am going to share with you a few things that I have been doing to pass the time and to have fun at home.

Make a smoothie!

This is something really simple that you can make at home. My favorite one to make is a strawberry banana smoothie and what you will need is two cups of fresh strawberries, 1 frozen banana cut into 4ths, ½ cup of Greek yogurt and ½ cup of milk. Blend it up and you are all done! You can also mix it up by using different fruits or by using regular yogurt if you don’t have Greek yogurt on hand. This is a really delicious drink and I make them all the time at my house.

Go outside and read a book!

After a while of watching too much tv and being on my phone all day I realized that I need to have a break from my electronics. I figured that the perfect thing to do was to grab a book that I haven’t read in a while and go outside and read it. I really needed the fresh air and since I did this, I have tried to go outside at least once a day (if it is warm enough). Even if you don’t have books at home, you can always write in a journal, do some homework, or just enjoy the outdoors.

Organize/ Clean your room!

Now I know that this doesn’t sound like the most fun way that you could spend your time at home, but after I finished completely reorganizing my closet, I felt so accomplished. It was something that I have been needing to do for a while and I felt relieved after I had finally done it!

Reach out to a friend or relative you haven’t seen in a while!

Since most of us have not seen our friends and some of our family members in a really long time, just sending a quick text or making a short phone call can really brighten someone’s day! Everyone has been affected by the coronavirus in some way, and many people are in a really difficult situation because of it. Make sure that you are still catching up with friends and family and supporting them in any way you can!

Cook a meal/ bake for your family!

Since I have been spending lots of time at home lately, I have realized that I really like to cook/bake meals for my family. Just the other day I made pasta salad and fruit salad, and yesterday I made brownies! It doesn’t have to be anything huge even just making a quick is something fun to do and something they will definitely appreciate.

I hope this has helped you find something fun to do at home while still staying safe!
