Thirty students competed in the school’s Poetry Out Loud competition in February. The competition requires students to memorize a poem (chosen from Poetry Out Loud’s anthology) and recite it on stage. The participants were narrowed down to 11 finalists for the secound round:  Savannah Anderson, Hannah Christopher, Maxwell Clark, Alex Cole, Bella Gray, Savannah Green, Serena Hutchens, Leah Jacoby, Luke Martin, Kamille Vermillion, and Mykelti Wheatley.

Senior Luke Martin won $100 and advanced to the state competition with his poem, Meditation on a Grapefruit.
