Being twins is already special, but being born on Halloween makes them even more unique.

Grace and Patrick Kelley have shared birthday parties since they were kids and have had a lifelong, built-in trick or treating partner.

“As a kid I always thought it was so exciting getting candy and cake on the same day,” Grace said.

“I think out of all of the holidays, Halloween is definitely the best for our birthday to fall on because of those benefits,” Patrick added.

The mix of the candy, cake, and presents should for sure cause some excitement, and even a sugar rush.

“You get a holiday birthday and you get to dress up,” Grace explains, “But, it’s not like Christmas where it’s like, ‘Aw man my birthday and Christmas presents are the same,’ ya know?”

Some years, they have had quite a different celebration. Grace and Patrick are both members of the GRC Marching Band and have spent a few birthdays at all-day competitions.

“The upside is that the entire band sings ‘Happy Birthday’ to us on the bus,” Grace says.

Besides sharing a Halloween birthday, being a twin has its perks.

“I always have a friend, which is really nice, and we always have the same classes and are in the same clubs,” Grace says.

“It’s nice always knowing someone else in the same grade and having someone you can go to,” Patrick continued.

Grace and Patrick have a pretty awesome birthday, along with a great relationship. They always have each other, especially as a trick or treating partner.
