Trunk or Treat event set for Sunday at GRC
Trick-Or-Treating is one of the most exciting parts of the Halloween season, whether you’re actually hunting for candy yourself, or being generous and giving it out. Either way, you should always capitalize on as many opportunities you can to spread that Halloween spirit.
On October 30th, you can.
On the night before Halloween, at 6-8 PM, GRC will host “Trunk or Treat” for elementary school kids and below.
This event isn’t only for kids, though. Hosting a trunk and getting to decorate in any theme you want with some friends is an exciting way to be involved, and have a great pre-Halloween night.
Churches, businesses, sports teams, and school clubs are all available to have trunks set up for the night. Children will walk through and collect candy from the variety of different decorated trunks.
“Last year it was very difficult because we were still in the midst of Covid and we had to have a drive-through event, but this year it’s really getting back to normal and the kids are going to be able to walk through,” shares Steve Crosby, Calvary Christian’s organizer for Trunk or Treat. “It’s definitely one of the biggest events in Clark County for children to do this Halloween. It will be an amazing experience and a great time, and I am looking forward to it.”
The FFA will also be involved, but not with trunks. They will be organizing fun carnival-style games for attenders, with various prizes, and even an agriculture history graveyard.
Mrs Pigg is FFA’s sponsor, and is excited for her students to participate and boost the community.
“Trunk or Treat is a great opportunity for our students to organize a fantastic community event for all the children that live within Winchester and all the surrounding areas,” she says.
If you are interested in potentially hosting a trunk, sign up on this Google Form. If you have questions about Trunk or Treat, contact Terra Pigg.
With lots of trunks filled with candy, fun inflatables, and exciting carnival games, this event is the biggest Halloween night the community has had, and will hopefully continue to grow.
So, this year, get involved and make this the best before-Halloween night you could ask for.
Daniel likes Don Señor because all his friends love it, and they always go there. He would live in “Doctor Strange in the Multiverse of Madness”, only because Wanda Maximoff is her best self in it....
