How about a nice, warm cup of joe?

Notice how I didn’t say iced?

Betsy Billings

We are talking coffee today, but made the right way, hot.

The start of consumption of coffee dates all the way back to 800 AD. A goat herder frank a concoction made from roasted coffee beans after seeing his goat become more energetic after eating coffee cherries. Now whether that story is true or not, I’m sure the herder did not put ice cubes in his new drink.

Picture this, you wake up in the morning in your warm, cozy bed. Toes warm, hands warm, feeling like the world has stopped. Then you remember you will have to get out of your human cocoon but not before you hit the snooze button one more time. Then the time comes when you absolutely have to get out of bed or you will be late for the third time this week, all from doing the same thing, you crawl out of your happy swaddle. Feet hit the floor and your whole body turns to ice. What is the best way to warm yourself back up? A fresh brewed cup of coffee. Why yes this whole story all lead to how important a morning cup of coffee is not only for energy but also the soul.

Now when the temperature gets hot and you need a midday pick-me-up, a nice iced coffee could do the trick. However, consuming iced coffee just because you are bored is not acceptable.

Coffee was made to energize you, something you consume with breakfast to give you that extra boost in the morning. It was not made so teenage girls can buy $5 beverages and hold on to them all day. (Kind of preaching to my younger self here)

Bottom line here, coffee is made to be hot, preferably with a little cream and sugar.
