Fine Arts Cohort to present play in festival competition
GRC’s Fine Arts Cohort will present its fall play, Appropriate Audience Behavior, at the Kentucky Thespians Festival Performance state theater competition at 11:30 a.m., Saturday, Oct. 16, at RiverPark Center in Owensboro.
“If you’ve ever been to a performance and been highly irritated at the uncouth behavior of your fellow audience members, this show is sure to annoy you,” said Katherine Lowther, Fine Arts Cohort coordinator. “Be sure to bring that special someone who just doesn’t know how to behave in public places, and use this show as a gentle eye-opener to their less than desirable character traits.”
From the Playscripts website:
“Carol and Ashley are expecting a tale of woe as they take their seats to watch Hamlet, but the real tragedy is that they’re sitting next to the world’s noisiest weirdos. The audience takes the spotlight as everyone from a cough-drop obsessive to a guy watching the play like a football game steals the show from the unseen Shakespearean masterpiece. An outrageously meta comedy that reminds us where the drama belongs – onstage.”
