After years counseling at the elementary level, Kim White was ready for the challenge of young adults. She has joined the GRC team as the counselor for freshmen.
“I wanted to transition to the high school level to witness the growth and progress of the students,” she said.
Mrs. White said she’s especially looking forward to staying with her freshmen for four years. “It’s my first year of looping with the students, starting with them their freshman year and staying with them until they graduate their senior year, so I’m very excited about watching them mature and grow into young adults.”
Before receiving her Rank 1 and guidance counselor degree from the University of the Cumberlands, Mrs. White was a second and third grade teacher. She comes to GRC from Justice Elementary where she was a counselor for three years.
Mrs. White lives in Lexington with her husband, Don, and their Yorkie Terrier, Sashi. The couple has two daughters – Breanna, who lives in Washington, D.C., and McKayla, a junior at the University of Kentucky.
