Big Week in GRC Sports
Girls’ Soccer
Last week the girls’ soccer team defeated two district foes, Bourbon County 8-0 and Paris 10-0. The girls also played to a 1-1 tie at West Jessamine. The girls play against Montgomery County at home on Wednesday.
Boys’ Soccer
The boys’ soccer team took on rival Montgomery County and came up short, losing in penalty kicks after a 1-1 tie in regulation and losing 4-1 on penalties. The boys bounced back against St. Patrick on Saturday coming out victorious 2-1. The Cards will have their Senior Night on Tuesday against Mason County where they will honor their 10 seniors. They will also travel to Tates Creek on Thursday.
Volleyball
The Volleyball team went 3-4 last week beating Robertson County, Western Hills (Thoroughbred Classic), and Franklin County (Thoroughbred Classic). The girls will have their Senior Night Tuesday against Western Hills where they will honor their two seniors. The girls will travel to Montgomery County to take on the Lady Indians on Thursday.
Football
Coming off a 47-14 victory over Grant County and fresh from their bye week, the team looks to take down the 1-4 Boone County Rebels.
Cross Country
The Cross Country team looks toward the Water Barrel Thursday at Lykins Park and the Greater Louisville Classic Saturday.
Boys’ Golf
The boys’ golf team is competing in their regional tournament today.
Girls’ golf
The girls’ golf team will compete in their regional tournament Tuesday.
Spencer McCord is a Senior and second-year Smoke Signals member. He likes to watch Sons of Anarchy and thinks Saturdays are for the boysenberry.
