Girls’ Soccer Continues Undefeated Streak

The girls’ soccer Cards continues their undefeated streak putting them 8-0 and ranked 9th in the state. Last week the girls traveled to Corbin and came back with a 8-0 win.

Last Tuesday the girls played Corbin and cruised to an 8-0 win. “The big story was our defense only allowing 1 shot that was collected up by Laura Martin,” says Coach Matthew Abner. “With how explosive our offense has been we can easily forget about the amazing job our defense does. The experience we have at defense could make for a special season.”

Saturday night the girls defended their home turf winning 5-0 against Fredrick Douglass and keeping their second shutout of the week. “We controlled possession and was able to break down their defense to get control of the game,” says Abner. “Second shut out in a row from good defensive effort. Overall good effort and I am pleased with how we are playing right now.”

The girls will look to continue their undefeated run as they play Scott County Wednesday at 7:30 at home and Woodford County Saturday at home at 5:00.
