In an arena filled with all kinds of people from all kinds of places, everyone shared the same thought: “T.O.P.”

That acronym represents the phenomenon that is Twenty One Pilots.

With the success of their last album Blurryface and their mega-hit from the Suicide Squad soundtrack, Heathens, Twenty One Pilots have become a sensation to a large fanbase.

On March 5, they ended their Emotional Roadshow Tour at the KFC Yum! Center in Louisville, KY.

To put it short, it was amazingly fantastic.

Opening for them first was the band Judah and the Lion. They were probably the least well-known act there, however they did a great job. Their own songs sounded great, but the highlight of their set was their cover of The Killers’ Mr. Brightside. It was just what was needed to get the audience on their feet and singing along.

The next artist was Jon Bellion, an artist who doesn’t have the recognition of the headliners, but is well on his way.

Bellion performed some of the hits off of his album The Human Condition, one of which obviously was the recent chart-topper, All Time Low. The energy his performance gave off got the crowd’s hearts pumping and was a great warm up for what was to come.

Finally, the time had come, With a snippet of their song Fairly Local and a stellar performance of Heavydirtysoul, lead singer Tyler Joseph and drummer Josh Dun came out on stage to deafening screams and excited fans.

Every single aspect of the concert was beyond astounding. Heavydirtysoul got the crowd pumped up and prepared for a great ride the rest of the night. Every song had fans echoing every note and up on their feet.

Joseph kept the crowd entertained as he delivered the group’s signature verses. His interactions with the crowd were breathtaking, from a bait-and-switch appearance in the upper arena to running around in a human-hamster-ball on top of the hands of fans below him.

Dun also provided awesome moments like a drum battle with himself and drumming on a platform held up by fans.

When you go to a concert, you go to hear the songs you love in person.

Every song either sounded like it did on their albums or better. Hometown sounded like it had gone through hours of editing, but it was right there in the arena on the spot. The acoustic piano beginning of Heathens was chilling and thrilling.

Their cover of Can’t Help Falling in Love provided a sweet moment for the audience. Ode to Sleep’s switch between dark techno sounds and optimistic drums was fantastic.

Moments like in Ride where Tyler didn’t even have to sing because the crowd knew every word was stunning.

The definite highlight was the performance of Car Radio. The melancholy lyrics were sang all around the stadium. Joseph’s piano and Dun’s drums accompanied the track perfectly.

Even better was the production itself. The lights and visuals were terrific, but Tyler’s actions were the most entertaining part.

After jumping off the piano, he ran around the floor, climbed on top of a little platform on the other side of the arena and finished out the song to the enjoyment of fans.

All in all, the Twenty One Pilots concert was one of the best experiences a music lover could’ve had.

The opening acts were great, which is an underrated but necessary part of an amazing concert.

Joseph and Dun gave fans everything they had for their last stop on this tour.

The music, the production, the crowd interactions, and the authenticity of the performers themselves added up to a great night.

Twenty One Pilots have always stood for not caving in to the fame and success, but representing their fans and making the music for them.

With the certainty of more music on the way, if you get a chance to see this group in person, don’t get stressed out, get tickets.
