Prom night has come and gone, and let me just say: It delivered.
The GRC prom hosted at the Well at Cherry Well Farm was simply a wonderful night, and many of my predictions came to life in full glamor and sparkle.
From springy pastels to Old Hollywood drama, the dance floor was a stunning showcase of individuality, elegance, and trendiness.
From the moment students began arriving, it was clear that this year’s prom style brought the “classic prom” feeling back in a big way.
Let’s start with color. As anticipated, lighter hues took over. Soft pinks, baby blues, and lilacs were a common choice.
These shades definitely went with the sudden change of weather that we have had recently.
Prom night was much sunnier and warmer than we expected, and with flowers in bloom for the season, the pastels were a nice pairing.
Following along in popularity were bolder shades like black and red. The girls that chose these gowns were absolutely striking and classic. The contrast between the two palettes created a beautiful balance.
Sequins and metallic fabrics shimmered beautifully, demonstrating that glitter is still on trend.
One thing I saw a lot more of than expected was patterns. Many girls had gowns that had designs printed into the fabric. I didn’t see it coming but I love how it looks!
As far as silhouettes go, corset bodices and strapless styles definitely took center stage. I saw so many structured tops paired with full skirts that gave a perfect mix of modern edge and classic prom. The boning flattered everyone while still allowing movement for dancing the night away.
Accessories were minimal but effective. Just as expected, most chose small, sparkly earrings or dainty necklaces.
Some took it to the next level and paired the gowns with gloves for a timeless look. Statement clutches and subtle hair accessories added the perfect touch without overpowering the look.
Makeup was full glam for most. Bold lashes, eyeshadow, and pink cheeks were popular across the board, making sure everyone glowed in prom pictures and in person.
Hair was a nice mix of styles: loose curls, sleek waves, and soft updos were everywhere, each one complimented the dress in a unique way.
Overall, it was such a fun night.
Everyone looked wonderful and it was so cool to see all of my classmates dressed up.
The venue was wonderful and we are so grateful for all of those who put in hard work to make Prom 2025 possible!
