GRC seniors rejoiced when they heard the exciting news: Prom and Soirée locations have been moved to a brand new venue!
Soirée is typically held at the Opera House in downtown Winchester, but this year will be held at The Bluegrass Family Farms on Winchester Road.
For the first time since the new GRC building was built, the Prom location has been moved off campus. Prom has been moved to The Well at Cherry Well Farm on Colby Road.
The new locations of Soirée and Prom this year were welcomed with open arms. Many people saw first hand how elated students were when they heard the news about the change of scenery.
Now, there is nothing wrong with the Opera House; it was just a little too small for the large classes this year. Parking became difficult, and the atmosphere was stuffy with so many people.
The Bluegrass Family Farms had a lot for parking for the large number and variety of cars, which was a really big obstacle with the Opera House.
Once you walked into the dance, there was plenty of room for everyone to move around and say hello to all their friends.
With the success of the Soirée location change, the Class of 2025 has high hopes for Prom, which is coming up April 19th.
Prom is a day that every senior looks forward to. You get the perfect dress, or suit, find the perfect date, and take the perfect pictures, but Prom would be nothing without a beautiful location to have it in.
That is exactly what The Well is. It is a gorgeous venue that will make everyone who walks in feel like they are living in a fairy tail.
The Well gives the Class of 2025 the puzzle piece that the graduated classes have been missing.
Prom is typically held in the GRC Arena; the GRC Arena is a beautiful facility that we, as a school and community, are very lucky to have.
But having a dance in your high school gym takes away some of the eagerness and magic of the night.
The Well gives us more of a High School Musical classic dance feeling. We get to stray away from the feeling of sports and completely focus on the actual dance.
We as a student body see and recognize the effort that the GRC admin is making, and we are very appreciative, and excited to see what else is to come.
