Just like the weather, as the year comes to winter, the fashion trends are up and down.
As we’ve seen across the media this year, there have been huge comebacks in the world of fashion.
And there have been some trends that were short but sweet. I wonder what this winter will hold when it comes to style?
I could not start this list without discussing the obvious, cheetah print. Tik Tok brought cheetahs back from 2014, into 2024.
There have been many articles of clothing going viral specifically from the Tik Tok Shop, like cheetah dresses, mini shorts, sweatshirts, etc.
This winter we will be bringing wild and chique together and should expect to see animal print across hats, shirts, shoes, and featured in many Christmas gifts.
At the beginning of 2024, the clean, preppy, “soccer mom” look was all the craze. But, I’m expecting the “mob wife” vibe to be at a height this winter.
This is one of my favorite fashion trends to date. With the classy looks, neutral colors, and statement pieces, I know we will be seeing a resurface of fur accessories.
Fur coats, boots, and hats embody the class and gaude of the “mob wife” aesthetic. This winter, we should all be vying for a spot on the “classiest dressed” list.
Everyone knows about the obsession over the “clean” trend. Which, I still extremely enjoy. But, I think this winter we will see the messy vibes from 2012.
The smudged eyeliner is starting to come back, giving the cute look that you aren’t trying too hard. And while a slick back is sleek and easy, the teased, messy buns add such a fun vibe to any outfit, and it doesn’t make your hair greasy!
I can’t help but to think of some icons like Kesha, Tana Mongeau, and Ashtin Earle when I see a cool outfit with some black eyeliner and a lip combo that’s not too perfect looking.
I’m not sure that I’m too crazy about this, but mixed metals are back and I’m learning to accept it.
For a few years it was hard no to mix silver and gold jewelry. But the girls of Tik Tok have spoken, and we’ve all decided it’s cute again.
This winter we will for sure be seeing gold earrings with a silver bracelet stack. Personally, gold jewelry rules my world, but the mixed metals do add some fun to a look. At your Christmas dinner, look to see who has on silver and gold simultaneously. (I’m secretly hoping you don’t.)
Christmas and winter as a whole are usually represented by red and green, but this year the color scheme has progressed.
Navy and chocolate are everywhere in stores right now and all over social media. I think the red and green has become a little tacky, and this year we’re all going for a more classy Christmas! I know I’ll have some chocolate-colored sweat sets on my wishlist!
I hate to end things on a bad note, but I have unfortunately been seeing skinny jeans and knee high boots on my For You Page.
I’m fine with the boots, when they’re styled correctly, they are so cute and trendy. I wish we could leave it at that. But, skinny jeans could possibly resurface.
I promise, the denim hugging your skin is not a good look — even when it’s cold outside. If you are seeing this trend as well, I’m sorry. The boots can stay. To the skinny jeans…there’s the door.
The air may be cold and dry, but your fashion taste doesn’t need to be! We have countless options to pick from out of the pool of trends from 2024.
Cheetah print, messy buns with a classic look, freedom with jewelry, I mean what more could I ask for on my Christmas list? Oh wait, I know. I could ask for no more skinny jeans. Ever.
