For a lot of people, finding a Halloween costume can seem like quite the hassle. Fifty dollars for a cheaply made costume that you’ll wear once, maybe twice if you’re being generous. Pushing it off to the last minute can make one of the best holidays feel like a task. To solve this haunting problem, I am listing the top eight easiest last-minute Halloween costumes.
1-Red Riding Hood
If you happen to have a white dress lying around, this costume is for you. You can get many varieties of red capes on amazon one-day delivery for less than $19 and with the dress and cape, you’ve got yourself a costume. Pair this with some black boots and a basket (not a necessary requirement) and there you go!
2-M&M
Last minute halloween costumes can’t get any simpler. To be the perfect M&M, get any colored t-shirt from Walmart or your closet, cut out an M symbol out of white felt or paper, and stick it on. Boom. Easy breezy costume.
3-Vampire
You might think to yourself that this costume is overdone, but with a million other people dressed up, it’s nearly impossible to wear a costume that someone else won’t have on, so don’t fret! With this costume you can wear almost anything, grab some red face paint for blood, and ta-da you’re a vampire. You can dress this costume up or down.
4-Scooby Doo character
The classic late 60’s color black outfits make these characters easier than any to recreate. A purple outfit and headband for Daphne, orange top, red bottoms, and glasses for Velma, green shirt and jeans for Shaggy, blue and white stripes for Fred, and brown and blue for Scooby. This can be a group costume or for just a couple people.
5-A Holiday
Holiday-themed costumes are an easy way to piece something together super quickly. Luckily Walmart already put out their Christmas accessories; pair something from there with a Christmas sweater or Christmas pajamas and you’re done. Other easy holidays to dress up for are Valentine’s Day (just wear pink or red) and St. Patrick’s day (put on some green and gold.)
6-Alvin and the Chipmunks
This costume pick being similar to an M&M, you’ll need blue, red, and/or green shirts and a letter A for Alvin to stick on the blue shirt. If you choose to be Simon you’ll need a pair of glasses. This costume is super easy and everyones loves Alvin and the Chipmunks.
7-Ratatouille
For all my couples out there, this costume is a good pick for last minute. Gray clothes and mouse ears for one and a white button down and white hat for the other. Mouse ears can be easily homemade with a plain headband and some felt (both found at Walmart.) If you don’t have a chef hat laying around, a white cap should suffice.
8-Scarecrow
Another simple costume that you can throw together with stuff at home is a scarecrow. Jeans or overalls and a flannel shirt makes up the easiest outfit. Grab some eyeliner or face paint and make the stitches across your face and you’re a scarecrow! If you’re feeling extra you can wear a straw hat.
Wishing everyone a spooky Halloween full of candy and great costumes!
