1-2 Cha-cha-cha! 3-4 Cha-cha-cha! Get ready for more glitter, spray tans, & mirrorballs! The widely popular American dance competition show is back!
Dancing with the Stars returns tonight at 8 p.m. The show has a whole new cast of characters ready to take on season 33.
Among the brand new cast are: con artist Anna Delvey, NBA Superstar Dwight Howard, Disney Star Chandler Kinney, ‘Family Matters’ Star Reginald VelJohnson, Actor Eric Roberts, Real Housewives Star Phaedra Parks, Bachelor Joey Graziadei, Bachelorette Jenn Tran, NFL Player Danny Amendola, ‘Beverly Hills: 90210’ Star Tori Spelling, Supermodel Brooks Nader, and two olympians fresh off of the Paris Olympics; Stephen Nedoroscik & Ilona Maher.
As a superfan of the show, I have taken it upon myself to predict who is going to end up on top and take home that mirrorball.
Starting with the first elimination of the season, I personally believe that Eric Roberts & Britt Stewart are going to be the first couple to go. Starting with the fact that he is 68 years old, he also is a bit of a controversial character because of his estranged relationships with his sister; actress Julia Roberts & his daughter, actress Emma Roberts. He has many movie credits and is very recognizable but I do not believe that he has the fanbase or dancing ability (compared to other contestants) to keep him in the competition for long.
Next to go for me is Anna Delvey & Ezra Sosa. Anna Delvey became an internet sensation after she was convicted in 2019 for posing as a wealthy heiress and committing multiple counts of credit card fraud. Now, with her ankle monitor and all, she is ready to take on this ballroom dance challenge. Unfortunately, I do think she will be eliminated pretty quickly because the internet has mixed opinions about her being cast in the first place. Some people are excited to see her in the ballroom, but most are outraged due to the fact that she is a convicted felon. Most view the casting as a reward for bad behavior and some do not even want to watch the show because of Anna. Therefore, I do not believe that she has the fanbase to survive the competition any longer.
I believe that the third elimination of the season will be actress Tori Spelling and her pro partner Pasha Pashkov. Tori Spelling rose to fame as Donna Martin on ‘Beverly Hills: 90210’ and now after being asked to join Dancing with the Stars nearly every season, she is ready to learn something brand new. I honestly just do not think that she will have the votes or the skills to take her far in this competition. Now she is a competitor that could come out and really surprise us all but for my prediction, I say she’s going to go home very early on.
Fourth elimination for me is going to be Reginald VelJohnson. Reginald is most known for his roles on ‘Family Matters’ & ‘Die Hard’. He is the oldest contestant at 72 years old but I believe that he will win over people’s hearts and earn the votes for the first few weeks. He is already winning over TikTok due to his partner Emma Slater’s creative clips. He also has dance experience so we know he has rhythm. Emma has already revealed on social media that memory is going to be a problem, but I think his heart is going to shine even brighter than his dancing ability. All I know is that I am definitely voting for him week one!
Now this is where the competition heats up, therefore predicting gets a little harder. But I think that Brooks Nader & her partner Gleb Savchenko will be eliminated next. Brooks Nader is a supermodel and Gleb is known for being the heartthrob amongst the pros so it’s safe to say that this pairing will be the ones to watch chemistry wise. I don’t know how well Brooks can dance, but models have a pretty good reputation on the show. The reason I think she will be gone halfway through the season is because votes from home determine half of the story, while the scores are the other half. I don’t think she has the fanbase to carry her farther than this, but if she can really dance then she might earn some votes along the way.
I predict that NFL player Danny Amendola & his pro Witney Carson will be next to go. I don’t think that he has a lot of rhythm just based on the TikToks Witney has posted. I think he will get votes because of Witney Carson’s comeback. The super popular pro has returned after a season off and many fans are very excited. I don’t know how popular Danny is so he may pull in a bunch of votes. Maybe his dance ability is better than I am expecting and he will make it farther. We will see how season 33 goes!
Coming in 7th place, I have Bachelor Joey Graziadei & pro Jenna Johnson. Bachelors haven’t had a good rep on DWTS so far but Joey has been named one of the best bachelors ever so I believe that he will be pulling in many votes as Bachelor Nation loves to cheer on their cast members. I also have seen him do some TikTok dances and he has natural rhythm, so if he gets the technique down then he will be one to watch. His personality is super fun and lovable and his pro partner Jenna also has many fans so I could definitely see him going farther, maybe even into the finals. For now, I am predicting 7th place for Joey & Jenna.
6th place for me is Phaedra Parks & Val Chmerkovskiy. Phaedra Parks is a reality TV star known for being on ‘The Real Housewives of Atlanta’ and for winning season 2 of ‘The Traitors’. Phaedra has a very spunky personality with a lot of confidence and I think that will take her far in this competition. I also think that she has rhythm and dance ability so that is why I am placing her in 6th. She is also partnered with the reigning champion so maybe that gives her a leg up? We will all find out on Tuesday, September 17th!
My prediction for 5th place is Bachelorette Jenn Tran & her pro partner Sasha Farber. Jenn found out that she was going to compete only 45 minutes before her flight to NYC for Good Morning America. She has a devastating ‘Bachelorette’ finale so I think that will bring in votes for her. Not to mention that bachelorettes have historically done very well on DWTS. Last year’s bachelorette came in 4th place and many other bachelorettes have won the mirror ball over the years. So, Jenn definitely has the potential to make it into the finals but with the talent this season, it is anybody’s game.
Getting into the finale, I think 4th place is going to be Olympian Ilona Maher & Alan Bersten. Ilona is on the U.S. women’s olympic rugby team and is fresh off of the Paris Olympics. She took the internet by storm with her hilarious, relatable, motivational, and inspiring content. Now, she is taking on the ballroom challenge and I think she is going to do extremely well. She can for sure a place further than 4th, she has everything she needs to win, but so do a lot of the other competitors. She is an olympian so she knows a lot about work ethic and she is one of the internet’s favorite creators right now so I definitely think he’s gonna bring in the votes!
For me, 3rd place is going to be NBA Superstar Dwight Howard & Daniella Karagach. Dwight is known for being a basketball legend. He is 6 ’10 which is almost the tallest competitor on DWTS. Sometimes it is harder for tall people to learn how to dance. I think that Dwight will make it far because of his partner Daniella. She was partnered with another NBA star Iman Shumpert and won. She was very creative with the choreography and played to his strengths. I expect no different with Dwight even though he is inches taller than Iman. Dwight also has natural rhythm and sometimes that is all you need!
Picking my top 2 was very difficult but I believe that the one and only pommel horse guy will end up in 2nd place. Now this is difficult because Stephen Nedoroscik & Rylee Arnold are going to take over the internet with their bubbly personalities and wholesome content. I think that Stephen will improve week by week because he has work ethic and knows how to learn and take critiques. He is so loveable I would be surprised if he did not make it to the finals! Him and Rylee together are going to be ones to watch for sure.
I think that Disney star Chandler Kinney & Brandon Armstrong will take home the mirrorball for season 33. Not only is she the youngest competitor of the season, she also has been dancing since she was three years old. She has never done ballroom but historically people with any sort of dance experience do pretty well. She has plenty of rhythm and knows how to learn choreography and how to count music which goes a long way in this competition. I think she will make it all the way for sure, but it is going to be a tight competition. With DWTS it truly is anybody’s game and it is safe to say that we are in for some surprises.
This list is purely my opinion and thoughts. I think anyone could win and take any place. This season is going to be an adventure so don’t forget to tune in tonight!
