Americans Look Over Important Thanksgiving Holiday
Santa Comes to Town too Early

Merry Thanksgiving…wait, what? Everyone wants everything to be equal – equal treatment for every thing, equal payment for everyone, and equal opportunities. So why doesn’t every holiday get treated equally?
Year after year we celebrate Halloween but by Nov 1, the world is already ready for Christmas. Do they realize that they have totally skipped over Thanksgiving?
Thanksgiving is meant for people to gather in unity and to give thanks for the lives they have been given. It’s supposed to be a time for families to gather and to share about their lives.
Thanksgiving is the one time of year that isn’t surrounded by gifts for yourself. I will never
understand why people insist on listening to Christmas music and putting their tree up before that oh so special Thursday.
Not only are people celebrating Christmas too early, but they are also ignoring the actual day of Thanksgiving too soon. Insignificant Black Friday Sales have cut Thanksgiving Day in half.
Black Friday sales start as early as noon on Thursday. In 2015, 136 million American citizens participated in these sales.
That is 42% of Americans. Forty-two percent of Americans cut their family Thanksgiving in half, 42% of Americans cut their time of thanks for this great country in half. This 42% of Americans would rather save $10 than spend 10 more minutes with their precious families.
But there are some people who care enough to fix this problem. Many malls across America will not open their doors on Thursday. They will be waiting until Friday to open so that their employees may get a chance to actually spend Thanksgiving with their families.
Thanksgiving was initiated to better people. It’s meant for people to refill their hearts with appreciation (and their stomachs with good food), so skipping over it just sells yourself short for bettering yourself.
Will there be a day when the whole Thanksgiving holiday is skipped over? Will there be a day when we forget about those original pilgrims? What will happen to our society? Will we stop being appreciative of our great nation?
Quit skipping straight to Christmas and give Thanksgiving a chance.
