GRC junior Warren Harris was named this summer to the 2020-21 Kentucky Student Council Association (KYSCA) Executive Council.

Warren joins 18 students from eight other counties on the statewide council, which was appointed by the KYSCA founders and executive director. Warren was named director of the Council’s Red River Region.

The Kentucky Student Council Association is a state youth organization affiliated with the National Student Council.

According to a KYSCA press release, state executive council members commit to a year of service with each team member focusing on making a positive difference in Kentucky schools and communities through service, engagement, recognition, voice, enrichment, and support efforts.

“The Executive Council members will interact with StuCo members and advisers across the state; corporate sponsors; government and education officials; local student council leaders; the general public; and more,” said the release. “The team will lead personal growth and leadership training conferences for KYSCA members throughout the state and help set policies that will guide the future of KYSCA and promote student voice.”
